The film, WICKED & i GALLERY OSAKA Art Collaboration
A collaboration between the film, Wicked: The Two Witches, which will be released on Friday, March 7th, 2025, and Hankyu Umeda Main Store. From March 12th to 18th (Wednesday), i GALLERY OSAKA will curate a special exhibition within the POP UP shop at Kotokoto Stage 11 on the first floor. This exhibition will showcase artwork by 2 artists—HAMADARAKA and Masakatsu Sashie—expressing the world of Wicked through art.
Magic is not merely a supernatural force; if we change our perspective, we can find it in our everyday lives. Wicked portrays the courage to make choices, the strength to stay true to one’s beliefs, and the freedom to live as oneself. Through this exhibition, we hope to explore the essence of magic through art and awaken the "magic" that exists within each viewer.
What happens when the two witches, Elphaba and Glinda, are enchanted by the magic of art?
Invisible forces take shape in colors and forms, stirring emotions within you. A single piece of art can create new stories and offer a fresh perspective on the relationship between the two witches. Come and experience the hidden “magic” that lies beyond the familiar tale.

“Elphaba and Glinda are opposites, like the moon and the sun; sometimes they are each other’s light, and sometimes they are each other’s shadow.
The two are like the two sides of a mirror, possessing magical powers that can change the past, future, and the world. I express the magical power that appears when their two timelines intersect and overlap by drawing 4 Elphabas and Glindas, from the past and future.”

“The neon that appears in the imaginary spheres a part of a hot air balloon, which may or may not have substance, is covered in patterns and things that represent the two witches from the play, while the two-colored world floats in the real world, delivering a message to everyday life. It is like a neon signboard that appears and disappears without notice, adapting to the flow of the times. I express it as something that creates a magical illusion making people’s hearts dance.“
